Gov. Gray Davis said [the San Diego et al. wildfires] may be the costliest disaster California has ever faced. He estimated the cost at $2 billion.



"This is a total disaster," he said.

Following which he said, "Here you go, Arnold, it's all yours! Hey, is there some water the firefighters aren't using that I can wash my hands of the whole situation with?"
